Complementary Therapy Team

With some of the funds raised so far, some of the monies have gone towards a special reflexology chair which the complementary therapy team at Naomi House can use when massaging clients in safety and comfort.

A case, chair cover and special cushions were also purchased and gratefully received.

June 2010 Quiz Night

After such an enjoyable time in March, it made sense to hold another quiz.

Same format as before but with different questions! This time the winning team won by over ten points' clear of the second placed team and were rather noisy in doing so.

Wooden spoons once more for the losing team, which you can see pictures of in the process of being decorated below.

Donations were provided by Southampton FC (see picture below), Paultons Park, Fleming Park Leisure Centre and Longdown Activity Farm.

Along with a raffle and auction we raised £291.00.

March 2010 Quiz Night

Our first quiz night was held at Romsey Comrades Club. Ten rounds of brain-taxing questions finished in an incredibly close first, second and third place, with 2.5 points separating third and first place, and only half a point separating second and first!

The winning team were awarded medals and the losing team, the traditional wooden spoons. Donations were courtesy of Asda Stores Eastleigh.

Along with a raffle and impromptu auction, we raised £227.75.

Christmas Carol Service 2009

Held at All Saints Parish Church in Eastleigh, given by Reverend Richard Davies and Helen Jesty, Naomi House chaplain, the congregation enjoyed a service including children from the nearby Cherbourg Primary School and the Broughton Singers.

Refreshments were supplemented by Sainsbury's Hedge End and our collection raised £255.25.

Skittles Evening 2009

This was our first event arranged solely by the committee and taught us a lot. We were offered free use of the skittles alley at the Eastleigh Irish Club on Station Hill, Eastleigh which meant our profit margin would be greatly increased.

Everyone played two rounds of skittles each, and the two highest scoring men and two highest scoring women played each other in a knockout to see who would win the prizes.

The prizes were kindly donated by The Wykeham Vineyard and Harbour Lights Picture House. There was also a wooden spoon for the person with the least number of points and she accepted her consolation prize with aplomb.

We also had a raffle, the star prize of which was a voucher for dinner at Berties Restaurant, Romsey and we raised £424.00.

Launch Night

Our launch night was held at the Old Dehli Eatery on Oxford Street, Southampton and was our way of establishing ourselves as a new fundraising committee. Anxious to get off to a decent start, we had an auction and raffle planned which would take place towards the end of the evening following a sumptious array of assorted dishes.

The night kicked off with a welcome and introduction speech by our chairlady explaining what our aims were and the work Naomi House does.

Our guest of honour, The Mayor of Eastleigh Mrs Pamela Holden-Brown, drew our raffle before committee members David and Michael acted as comperes for the auction, taking bids for donations from Fleming Park Leisure Centre, Platinum Nails, Chris Huhne MP, MBE Portsmouth and The Solent Steam Packet.

The evening was finished off with a photo opportunity with the whole committee, Mrs Holden-Brown and the cutting of a celebratory cake, We raised £345.10.
